Filling A Gap In the Data Center Market
Addressing a lack of options for outsourced data center customers is the reason Horizon was formed. Industry veteran Chuck Smith and partners came to the same conclusion when looking at the industry: there was an opportunity to do something significantly different and provide a real choice for enterprise and SMB's alike.
While there are many options in the marketplace, when you classify the many firms offering some form of IT delivery services, a gap in the breadth or depth of services offered is apparent. On one side you have a la carte hosting companies with limited or no high-end services. Think facilities-based colo firms, dedicated unmanaged hosting and managed hosting providers; there are great firms in these categories, but with each business model, there's something missing that causes customers to look elsewhere for some aspect of services or support.
On the other side of the market, you find the huge global IT outsourcing firms. While they have huge scale and tremendous expertise, they struggle to be efficient with all but the very largest projects. They have a real problem executing or even engaging on small projects, no matter how mission critical.
Enter Horizon. We know that the size of a project doesn't indicate its importance because in the end, it all comes down to the application running on the IT infrastructure. We know one cabinet can be mission-critical and small businesses deserve enterprise quality infrastructure and compliance-focused processes. For large enterprises, we provide the flexibility and agility desired to address small or short-term projects.
